All setup for the first game! A perfect chill game on Christmas!

My Xbox got hacked last night as well as my email so I am out of video gaming for 12 days or so which sucks but more time for board games I guess

Nothing like spending time with my son who was home from university for the Christmas break. He kicked my butt at a game of Outer Rim. This was my first experience with the Unfinished Business expansion content and it elevated this game from good to great! So much fun.

Heck yeah! Unfinished Business really makes the game.

About to try out 5th edition for the first time. I hear it makes the game somewhat faster. I really like the art and the minis in this version.

Let us know how the game goes! And your thoughts on it?

I like it. It is mostly 4th edition but faster. You can now spend fate tokens to change movement. There are hardly any lose your turn punishments. The toad is less punishing. Leveling up is now your trophies must be equal or greater than your strength or craft to gain a +1 which I like.
The rule book also has 4th edition rules in the back as alternate rules you can still play with.

I thin with a group 5th edition is the way to go but solo 4th edition may be still better but I do like the new leveling system and the game also seems less punishing and more rewarding. Excited to see what expansions they add to the game.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts.

I think if you Google it you might need the full name: Book of Skulls: Slayers of Eragoth.

Didn’t get to play last night but am excited after reading the rules. Requires 2 players (though the designer wants a solo mode later). Each controls a team of 4 trying to power up across however many maps you choose to play on and be the first to kill the Skeleton Witch (which requires you to kill other bosses first).

One side takes 2 turns as the heroes, moving and fighting/exploring while the other team plays as the demons and does a bit of GMing. There’s 10 maps you could encounter with unique dungeons/strongholds/legendary items/mechanics/etc… And also decks of puzzles to encounter in the dungeons. The player currently controlling the demons has to read the walkthrough for the map areas & read the puzzle cards as well.

I totally would have backed Book of Skulls if it was co-op / solo.

We don’t do a lot of competitive games but just couldn’t resist going for this one. Hopefully it’s as fun as it looks!
