What's on your table? General Tabletop Game Discussion

Another pick up I hope to get to the table very soon.

Supposedly improves upon the base game quite a bit with a lot more sandbox appeal, weather, more events, more time to travel and explore, the Book of Tales is a massive 307 pages, water travel and much much more!

Supposedly there’s an open world mode incoming for Waste Knights as well. But the developer’s been claiming that it was in the works since well before the crowdfunding project for the expansion. I think it was supposed to work with an app.

Or maybe it’s already out and I missed it? Also possible! I haven’t gotten the expansion to the table yet. Might have been incorporated into that?

It was a basic delve from the core rules. Using the Bleakfall barrows minis and minis and cards from Skyrim board game and the mini upgrade kit.
Have all the card and book expansions now after the sale but want to slowly get back into it using the settlement rules and party leveling from the latest expansion.
Still a whole load of minis to build yet too

So, I’m not playing per se, but it is on my table! :upside_down_face:

My seven year old doesn’t yet like to play games using actual rules, but he sure loves building setups with my bits and pieces, his toys and this time, the Arctic Heroquest expansion.

Hellbringer has hit the table! Attempting to learn the rules. I love the theme and vibe this game has. This will definitely be a keeper.

It’s a really cool card game.

I don’t think I’m a fan of 7th Citadel. I didn’t like 7th Continent, and I thought that maybe the new mechanisms for 7Cit would win me over. But I just find it so cumbersome to constantly be looking for, playing, returning, and organizing all the card. It still seems like a game that should have been a game book, and not a card game.

It really does feel like 7th Citadel is a game with a bunch of patched up rules. Blocked cards still add their weight, but not their keyword? Chained actions limit how many cards you can take into account for successes, but not effects? The game is like once exception built upon another.

I never tried those but been intrigued as I love adventure games but always seemed to be more of a chore than fun?

Soloing using the rules Daniel had posted about. Always been one of my favorites and my kids love playing against me when we do many vs 1. It works great solo. Like Daniel said, I wish Flying Frog fleshed this series out a ton more, so more opportunity for some really cool addons and depth.

Total chore, at least for me. I love the idea, but don’t like the execution. I don’t like the card play at all. I wish characters just had stats and rolled dice for challenges.

Makes sense, I love games that do the latter as well. Really why I am excited to jump into the big Waste Knights expansion at some point

One thing I really do like about 7Cit is the citadel / planning phase. Being able to upgrade your base, and build buildings with persistent bonus is awesome.

Did they ever release the full sandbox / no timer mode for Waste Knights? For me, Fallen Land completely replaced WK2e. That timer in WK was brutal!

Fallen Land is so good!

Haven’t tried it yet but as far as I know the expansion is much more sandboxy and the timer is much more relaxed to allow you to explore more and move around at your leisure. The Book of Tales is also over 300 pages so tons of events and content. I hear that this really fixes the game and makes it much more of what it should have been.

More games need that town and build up phase. That does look pretty sweet!!
