What's on your table? General Tabletop Game Discussion

Just picked up Dark water today. So excited to play it! Model assembly begins tonight…games this coming weekend. The book/board is very cool. Models are just beautiful of course. Very keen to get some paint on them in the coming weeks.

I was looking at them in the local shop. The druid with the sickle and staff is amazing. Wouldn’t last five minutes with my kids though, the details are very fine

WHQ: Darkwater truly is excellent. There is so much variety, and it has one of the best campaign system I’ve seen in a game. It’s quick and meant to be played multiple times. This scenario I’m playing now is basically a game of Bloodbowl with an explosive ball. So damn cool.

Yeah, winters in these parts are tough on the soul. Good idea to lose yours to Arkham Horror for a few hours. I’ve been meaning to get this game out again. Seems like you gave me the push I needed to make it happen.

Looks awesome! So is Warhammer Quest back??

I wish they would remake the 95 version. Still my holy grail to get.

Not what’s on my table, but what is my table?

I used to have a 150 x 110 table (5 ft wide, just under 4 ft deep), made from two small desks attached together, but it wasn’t quite big enough for tabletop gaming with four or more sat at the table. I have been considering getting a dedicated 180 x 120 table (6 ft wide by 4 ft deep) but in the UK these are very expensive - £1800 minimum and that’s just for a table, nothing fancy.

I needed some more Kallax recently so, while visiting Ikea I checked out their ‘build your own desk’ range and they had 120 x 60 desk tops available… that spurred me on, surely three of these components plus some legs could be used to make the size of table I wanted?

After consulting with my dad (who was a mechanical engineer) on how to secure and strengthen the three tops into one (two 10 x 2.5 x 150 beams…) and with six legs equipped with casters the table is complete and fantastic. The casters mean it can be slid to one side of the room when not needed and then easily over into a central position when gaming with others.

Total cost about £150…

Congrats! Have fun with it!

Looks really cool man!

Played a little CoraQuest last night. Really fun and simple dungeon crawl similar to HeroQuest

The crew is coming over tonight for Trial 3 of Talisman Nemesis: Call of the Hunt. Time to put this expansion to rest! If we beat it quick enough we may have time for a second game and will try out the recent White Dwarf mini-expansion “The Dead King”.

I’ve got a copy of Dark Water on the way to me. It’s was only £20 with free postage on eBay. Just missing the models so I’ll print out some tokens

Last Weekend i played FALLEN LANDS 2 times solo and PARANORMAL also hit the table. A nice Solo game on the month.

Got in a short learning game of Rome Fate of an Empire. Lost but made a couple of rules errors. Lots going on in this one.

Not technically on my table, or even coming up next as we already decided our next campaign game will be SoB. But I was excited to receive Space Kraken in the mail today.

Running a ship crew in a roguelike sci-fi rpg/crawler with options for additional players to be a mascot, broken AI, or mind slug. All with different rules/goals. Not always cooperative.

Can it be played solo? Looks great!

I had my eye on Space Kraken during the campaign, but had to pass for financial reasons. It was a torturous debate, though.

I would love to see your thoughts on the game after you play it.
