Arydia: The Paths We Dare Tread
Going to try to run three characters solo: Dwarf Warrior, Fae Mage, and Slynn Cleric. If it gets unwieldly, will cut down to two characters (not sure which two).
Cool let me know how you like it
Echo of the Predator just arrived. Electronic board game in a scenario similar to aliens. Waiting for it to warm up before giving it a go. Might have to get out my old Mattel Electronics Dungeons & Dragons to see how far we come in 45 years.
This game looked interesting. Come back and let us know what you thought of it!
Anyone try 52 realms?
I’ve played one game so far to get the feel of it. Game mechanics are pretty smooth. There is some interesting choices to make that became apperant during play. Looks like enough variety in maps and characters should keep it fresh for some time. Game only took a few minutes (about the length of classic solitaire card game). Thumbs up so far from me.
Nice. I’ll definitely keep it in mind when looking for my next quick solitaire game then. Thanks!
Have heard that Freedom Five is very good from multiple sources.
it’s hard to get a second hand copy… also wanted to try that one out… have fun and maybe ill find a copy without donating my kidney😜
Yeah I cannot find any of the expansions sadly. Super hard to find, let alone at a reasonable price.
well i hope they do a “2nd Edition” like with Dungeon Saga…
That would be great! It’s a really neat game. I really enjoy the strategic battle system and I love the dice system. I wish more games did dice like this.
Yea feel the same.
I also very like the nice and clever dice system from Dungeon Saga Origins.
Combining the To Hit Roll with the Armor and the Defence roll is simple, quick and give you a nice feeling of the combat.
Way better than HerroQuest and Co.
Agreed! Like a much better HeroQuest dice system. Would love to see it in more dungeon crawls. Such a neat and quick system. I also like how dice are added or taken away based on position or health etc.
Townsfolk Tussle hit the table this afternoon. A fun one shot boss battler and I love the art in the game.
We were just looking at this in a local game shop today! Boss battlers never seem to work out well for us though, for some reason. So we didn’t walk out of there with it… Kind of gave up on the genre after bouncing pretty hard off of Aeon Trespass: Odyssey.
Townsfolk Tussle is a standalone boss battler – from memory each play is a random combination of 4 or less battles. There’s no commitment to a campaign. That said, I bought it for the beautiful “Cup Head” theme and to support a new team starting out.
I haven’t managed to get it to the table often enough to give a proper take, but I think it falls into that “beer and pretzels” space.
It works great as a boss battler as it’s a one off so no campaign, no town to build up or gather resources. You fight 4 random bosses with a shop phase in between. I love it as it’s a ton of fun and very easy to get into.
