We quite enjoyed it. And honestly, didn’t have much issue with the rulebook. I think the only point where we fumbled a bit was in the first game, because I got the impression that the iconography on all the demon abilities wasn’t as important and you could just read the skills. But you absolutely do need to know the iconography. Was it the rulebook’s fault I got that impression? Or was it just my own failing? I’m not sure… But from the 2nd game on things went pretty smoothly. The few questions we had after that came from the Walkthrough book, but nothing you couldn’t figure out with a re-read and a bit of thought.
It’s a great competitive Ameritrash game with some neat little mini-game and puzzle aspects you can trigger (or avoid if you don’t like them). And for two players I would hands down grab this before Talisman as long as the other player was engaged enough. Fights are a big part of the game and aren’t particularly short. And when playing the demons if you want to take out the other player’s heroes you’ve got to use debuffs and spend currency to summon teams with mean disabling effects in combination.
I wrote a rather long review on BGG if you’re interested in hearing more: A Book of Skulls: Slayers of Eragoth Review - Finely Crafted, European Made 'Ameritrash' | Book of Skulls: Slayers of Eragoth

Awesome! I’m glad it turned out good! Andy the designer was such a nice guy and worked so hard on the game.

It really comes through. There’s so much lore… 5 ages of pertinent history, and specifics that go as far as the space between planets in the solar system.
And I’ve had nothing but very positive interactions with Andy on BGG. I really want this game to grab a larger audience, because it feels like it should.

A little hidden gem of a sandbox game. Small box but offers quite a bit of gameplay plus I am a sucker for Western games. You can go hunting, rob a train, herd cattle, race horses, go mining, take on forts, visit ghost towns etc. I love how mining and fights work, you use a bag system. Visit different towns to upgrade your gear, take a peak in the saloon to see what happens with the saloon deck. There is an event deck too that anything can happen. Lots here!

Spurs is pretty cool. How are you handling the gun fights solo?

I am drawing the bag and just fight the bandits and animals that way.
Draw 3 bullets and if you fail you get the amount of red bullets on their chit.
I am using an AI timer that moved up based on the train for how the AI token moves up on the trophy board

I plan on adding other characters eventually to simulate more going on. I know the system calls for real time but I will do a turn based system just like against animals and desperados. Draw one bullet at a time for each cowboy/outlaw and the first to two bullets wins.

Getting ready to play Fall of the Ancients (The Campaign Adventure for Hexplore It Volume 2: Forests of Adrimon).
It came with cards for all the allies and encounters in the book, as well as for the previous entry (Klik’s Madness). There’s also replacement decks of the upgrade cards for both Volume 1 & 2 that now have art on all the cards!
Edit: Ignore that sharpie, it’s unrelated, I’m not doing something horrible with it.

Oh man this has been on my to play list for months. I really want to dive in!
Currently I’m working through my first play of 2D6 dungeon. I think once that Character dies I may dive into 2d6 Realm next or continue with my Scarlet Heroes campaign followed by an Ironsworn vanilla first time play.
I’m also reading through the rules of Sleeping Gods, Primeval Peril.

My wife and I really liked Klik’s Madness, so we’re pretty excited.
I’ve got Ironsworn on our play list too. I’ve thought about Scarlet Heroes but haven’t purchased it yet. I’m trying to avoid more books like that until we start making a dent in Ironsworn/Starforged, Forbidden Psalm, Five Parsecs/Leagues, Expeditionary Company, etc… Our backlog is getting insane.

Completely agree on back log! RPG books are easier to store then board games, so my collection has grown ha.

That’s true, but for some reason the board games are easier to get to the table for us. So I’m pickier about keeping a backlog of RPG books. Board games just make me find more spaces to store them, and I’m never bothered by it…

Starting an adventure of Legendary Kingdoms. I missed the latest Kickstarter and the physical products are available, but the shipping is crazy. I prefer the tactile feel of a book, but this will do.

I’m still waiting on delivery for the 3rd Legendary Kingdoms book
Luckily I have Arydia to fill the gap! Playing with my 2 kids, which has been nice.
