Crowdsale for Spacers: Space Adventure Board Game

Hey all!

A crowdsale for Spacers: Space Adventure Board Game starts on the GameCrafter on August 30.

The more people that buy, the cheaper the game gets. It’s like a big group buy to help being to costs of POD down. If you’re interested in the game, might be a good time to snag a copy.

You can check out my recent review of this stellar game here:

And a gallery of photos I posted earlier:

Did anyone get a receipt, but doesn’t have it listed on their account on game crafters? Is this normal or should I reach out if I don’t get an order number soon. Not sure how different crowd sales are vs regular purchases from the site.

Thanks in advance.

This is normal for crowdsales. It’s weird.

Man, I would love to give this game a complete facelift! I’m kind of obsessed with it. So few games get the mix right for my tastes. This one is near perfection, and if it didn’t look so goofy, it would get a 10 from me.

So glad you dig Spacers so much, Jerry. It’s such a fantastic little game. Hey, maybe you can work on Colby to get Plaidhat to publish!

It would be cool to adapt it to the Wandering Galaxy setting. Hire an artist, and channel our graphic design talent.

That would be amazing! Also, can’t wait for WG! Looks so good.

Received my copy today. Excited to learn and play this weekend :rocket:

Same - DD should get a cut from the success of this crowdfunding. Postage was rough.

Did anyone else find that the top and bottom of the box don’t line up snugly to hide the white inner tier of the box bottom? Trying to determine if they’re all like mine or if I got “lucky.”

Those boxes really stink. All of my boxes in that style have eventually fallen apart, as the bottom of the box is glued to an insert. By far my least favorite thing from the game crafter.

I’ve had a bit of a back-and-forth with TGC about it. From my basic understanding of… well, cardboard (and as shown in my photo above) the issue I see is that on the outer-tier of the box-bottom, the long “wall” (shown running away from the camera on the right) and the short “wall” (shown running away from the camera on the left) are not the same height, and that is because they were not cut to the same uniform width before being folded up to form the walls of box-bottom. Because the 2 walls are not the same height, the box-bottom and box-top do not fit snugly to hide the white inner tier.

TGC did come back to me and said something about how the box-bottom is glued to the white insert. But for the life of me I can’t see how that’s relevant to the issue I’m describing.

Am I understanding you correctly that you regard this as a second issue? I have no issue re-glue-ing the 2 tiers of the box bottom. Will that not solve the issue you describe?

It looks like yours is a bit misfolded, so that it won’t properly close. The side sticks up a bit more. I’ve never had a really good experience with any of these boxes.

Yeah, my box was a bit cattywampus. I spun the top around and it fits better. To Daniel’s point it seemed like an individual folding issue.

This is the first box I’ve had like this and I was scratching my head wondering why this would be the preferred approach. Margin for error seems high, as does likelihood for instability (e.g., smooshed box, contents on floor, etc…)

Once you punch it all out, it fits in a smaller box. I might try to use a expansion box from another game and add the art on this box to it - or I might be lazy and leave it as it is and take a blue or purple sharpie to the white bits.
