A low-energy show-and-tell recorded while Daniel (@dungeondive) was under the weather, previewing what the channel might cover in the months ahead. The headline is patron-voted: a multi-episode deep dive into Hexplore It’s Klik’s Madness campaign book, with a full week set aside to learn it. The rest is a tour of a crowded table. Small-press finds include Between Lights and Shadow, billed as the most complex roll-and-write he has seen; The Zone, a play-to-lose body-horror storytelling game he plans to bolt solo mechanisms onto; Vermis II, annoyingly a different shape from Vermis I; Mist and Fade from the maker of Whale; Miru 2; Weird Dungeon; a Delve expansion he folded into an 89-page zine; The Vast in the Dark; and Dungeon, a MUD-themed book whose gutters are so tight that whole table columns vanish into the spine. Review copies on the way include The Walking Dead RPG from Free League, whose structured solo rules impress him, Space Aces: Voyages in Infinite Space with its galaxy-in-a-box tiles, You Meet in a Tavern You Die in a Dungeon, Loom’s book of lore, and Marching Order’s sewer-crawl expansion. Bigger boxes round it out: Plum Island Horror, the finished version of an indie RPG-in-a-box he previewed a year earlier, Dungeon Saga Origins Legendary Edition, Deliverance, and the enormous Dungeons of Doria with its 880 cards, which he cannot wait to open properly.
When a channel dumps a preview pile like this, which would you most want turned into a full video: an obscure zine, a big-box crawl, or a licensed RPG outside the fantasy comfort zone?
