Really stoked to finally check this thing out. Heard so much about Duel of Ages from the Dice Tower.

Have to admit I have never heard of this one. Just looking at the website I can’t even tell what its all about 
It’s a weird game. Core game is a competitive team-based capture the flag style game with an anachronistic cast of characters spanning all of human history and into the future. Set 3 adds a solo/co-op campaign and skirmish mode.

Charlie Theel’s review really made me wish that my wife’s son was young again and still in the house. This was the sort of thing we’d have had a blast playing with him when he was a teen.
I wasn’t aware of the co-op campaign mode. But I’m not sure it’d have enough meat on it to warrant the purchase knowing that we’d never get the core game mode played.

The campaign is fairly meaty. It’s 12 games long and has a meta-game about managing the competitors that run (“immerse” with) the actual heroes on the board.
I’m in my 2nd playthrough after about 2 months off of it and I’m enjoying it as much as the first time. There’s enough choice in the story to see some new stuff if you take a different team management approach. And 2 months was just long enough to forget some things 
The story wouldn’t hold up for a 3rd playthrough, but after 24 games, I’ll have gotten my money’s worth.
