Rogue Dungeon 2e. Played a couple of rounds for the first time - quick to pick up the basics, fast to play from start to finish (c. 1 hour). Superb. Is this almost a compulsory buy for fans of the genre…?
I can’t imagine my collection without Rogue Dungeon.

Another day, a other dungeon; this time Iron Helm. I rounded off the tale of Moliclan, who over the course of several adventures had amassed quite some gear. He needed it all against Zogar, who rolled double 6s in the opening exchange - this is even worse than it sounds…! Moliclan survived to retire in his castle, and I’m looking forward to starting again with the alternate dungeon deck, perhaps with the Environment cards too…
Runebound appears to be all dragons and eyeballs.
I got the idea from this BGG post:
I’m taking a look at the prototype for Ballads & Tales. It’s a gorgeous game with a ton of hand painted art, lots of standees, and seems pretty cool. Co-op or GM, I get the feeling it plays a bit like a slightly more complex HeroQuest.
Looks promising. Very oldschool art. I dig that vibe. Does it have solo? The card with text on it seems to be a game master’s type shenanigan.
Solo and GM led. Total throwback style game. Seems to be just a couple steps up from HeroQuest in terms of complexity.
Drop Bears
A bit hit and miss for me. More a co-op puzzle than an adventure. The monsters can’t be harmed, and the skill lies in not having too many of your campers torn apart.
Nemo’s War in one I still need to get into. Looks so fascinating.
It’s long, puzzly and difficult to win. It does capture the theme of 20,000 Leagues Under the Seas very well. There’s not much about in that early sci-fi genre.
I just love the overall look of everything. It’s a beautiful design.
trying to organize my Imperial Assault collection and get it ready for a big playthrough with a friend and my son
Wow! That’s a lot of IA! Should be fun.
