Pretty much the same they just made things better. Combat is slower paced and more strategic. They fixed the monetary system and the loot system. Everything is much better imo and the boss fights are amazing.
I’m fooling around with cogmind. As a pretty pure roguelike I love it, and the vibes it gives me are fascinating. I came to it studying roguelike design and its very clever. I recommend! (If you like brutal roguelikes).
I love how the world is being literally built around you.
So complex! It’s absolutely overwhelming. Learning how to play the game is probably the main focus.
My friends whome I also play dnd with spend more time on character design min/maxing than roleplying so that’s probably why they like it.
Heads up!
For the King II hits Game Pass today.
I picked up PoE II but only scratched the surface. Went with the Mercenary. Excited to play more and dig in proper this weekend.
Awesome let me know how you like it. Lately been playing a dual wielding rage Warrior. So much depth to the game, lots of different builds you can do and it’s just at the beginning stages!
Cyberpunk 2077 presently has both its cyberhooks in me. Never played at launch and bounced off the intro a couple times. Now I’m about 30 hours in and really enjoying tooling around Night City.
Recently read Neuromancer and just finished Count Zero, so the genre is front-of-mind.
Just finished the tutorial for Caves of Qud. My mind is scrambling slightly thinking of the enormity of the game and possibilities. Feels like Dwarf Fortress levels of depth.
Have to say the UI and controls are pretty intuitive and easy to parse. Excited to explore.
It’s a procedurally generated masterpiece. Stands side by side dwarf fortress imo.
The only video game I am playing currently is Slay the Spire.
Just usually do the Daily Challenge (if it is one that I like) or a Custom Run.
Been addicted to Slay the Spire for a long time! Excited for the second one
Installed RetroArch onto my iPad and having fun with vertical shooters in the proper vertical screen position
.
The app runs nice and you can skin it to look like the old PS3 menu.

Which is amazing how many old school games have achievements now so many…and it’s as addictive as when trophies and achievements first came out….it really is addictive
For the first time I’ve got a character up past 10,000 turns in Caves of Qud. Holy shit. This game is absolutely amazing. Every ten minutes or so I discover something new and exciting. It’s pretty much a perfect game. This run has been so rewarding.
Been playing the new Dragon Age and it actually surprised me quite a bit. The graphics and views are breathtaking and the combat is really fun. The story has pulled me in and I am enjoying seeing characters from the 3 prior games.
I’m looking forward to playing DAV when it goes on sale.
This morning I read a cool story about someone’s character in Caves of Qud. Their feet mutated and gained the ability to hold liquid, and they gathered 10,000 lbs of good by walking around a swamp.
The stories this game creates and unparalleled. Probably only Dwarf Fortress compares, but I still haven’t played that.
I got it on sale on Xbox for $38 which seemed like a pretty good price! I think you would really enjoy it.
I need to get Caves still, sounds like such an amazing time
That’s a great price for DAV. Might pick it up if it’s still on sale.
Yep should be till New Years!
