they finally revealed full details about the new WHQ game!
I’m sure folks will be divided about the book maps, but I think it’s a fun and different approach. I like that each WHQ feels unique to itself and this will be no different. The quick plays and campaign mode sound great!
I am so in. I like the idea of the gamebook, cutting out souch setup time, plus Nurgle is my JAM and I need these models for my army. Absolutely love the Pestigors, Shaman, and Cankerborn.
The miniatures look awesome and yeah, I agree that the game book is an interesting thing to try! It seems like very similar to Blackstone Fortress, but it skips the very lengthy part of set up where you draw a combat card and have to find all the tiles
well… but this is (for me) one of the most cool parts of an Dungeon crawler: not to know what’s ahead, drawing a card and setting up the next map tile… but that’s me
Presale for this is on Saturday. But don’t fret, GW says this game will stay in production a while so there’s no reason at all to have FOMO or worry about scalpers (I trust them that this won’t be another Cursed City issue).
I was able to pre-order mine from my FLGS. The game is expensive, but also I view every WHQ game as a hobby project that takes me… a long time to build, paint, and play. I’m very excited!
Excellent idea! I’m looking forward to seeing your take on it. It seems like a step towards the kind of quick diving adventures that I’m more interested in in my “dad phase.”
So far it seems pretty cool. It’s definitely more of a narrative skirmish game than a dungeon crawl, but BSF was heavily leaning into that direction as well. The set up and tear down are an absolute breeze, and the various encounters have a lot of variety. There is a lot of replay value in the way you make the encounter deck.
