Daniel (@dungeondive) examines the only two substantial expansion packs for Silver Tower: the Hero Cards and the Chaos Adversary Cards. The base game ships with six heroes—Knight Questor, Darkoath Chieftain, Mistweaver Saih (the franchise’s first female character), Tenebrael Shard, Excelsior Warpriest, and Fyreslayer Doomseeker—each with unique XP triggers and painted mini showcases.
The Hero Card pack explodes the roster to dozens of warriors drawn from across Age of Sigmar factions: Stormcast, dwarves, orcs, skaven, chaos lords, and Slaanesh assassins. Daniel marvels at the audacious sculpts while acknowledging they appeal to the perpetual fourteen-year-old in every hobbyist. The Chaos Adversary Card pack is the real game-changer, dramatically expanding enemy variety with full stat cards and behaviour tables for enemies from both Silver Tower and Shadows Over Hammerhal, plus additional factions. Both packs are now out of print and climbing toward $100 each on eBay. Daniel recommends buying Silver Tower sooner rather than later—base copies without minis can still be found for $20-30, though complete sets range up to $200.
Should Games Workshop release digital card packs for out-of-print expansions, or does scarcity add to the mystique?
