Daniel (@dungeondive) launches a solo Let’s Play campaign of Warhammer Quest, beginning with character creation and dungeon setup. After a community poll on the Dungeon Crawl and Adventure Facebook group, the two heroes are chosen: Harlan Peters the Barbarian and Saul Matheson the Witch Hunter—an unlikely pair whose backstory Daniel invites viewers to help craft.
The video walks through the full character creation process for both warriors, rolling starting wounds, equipping gear, and determining Saul’s magical amulets (Fury, Purity, and Holy Fire). Daniel sets up the dungeon deck for their first quest—The Dragon’s Eye—where Bartok Hammersmith, a dwarf guardian, tasks the warriors with returning a stolen gem to a dragon statue deep beneath the fallen hold of Karak Azgal. The dungeon is assembled with a mix of official tiles and fan-made expansions, event cards are shuffled, and the stage is set for adventure. Daniel makes clear this is casual play with inevitable rule mistakes, not a how-to guide—and that’s precisely the charm.
Have you ever run a two-warrior Warhammer Quest campaign? How did you handle the brutal difficulty scaling?
