Daniel (@dungeondive) checks out Void Realm, a solo card game from The Game Crafter that arrives in a VHS-style box—which he’s become rather fond of lately.
You inhabit a vessel and travel through realms of unknowable beings who deal in life forces and ethereal energies. Collect five orbs before losing all your health, light, or accumulating too many burdens (guilt, shame, regret, despair, corruption). Three of the same burden? Journey over. Daniel reckons this might be the first “Doom Pilgrim-like” he’s encountered—games where things happen to you rather than presenting neat strategic choices.
The art is wonderfully weird and esoteric. Perfect for candlelit October sessions if you’re into that sort of thing.
