Warp’s Edge
I like to take a game on my travels and give it a proper thrashing. On the last trip to Scotland, the honours went to Warp’s Edge - a smart little solitaire bag builder (though it could just as easily have been a deck builder), with all the satisfaction of tuning an engine and all the tension of a looming mothership.
It’s a puzzler, not an adventure. There’s no grand narrative arc and now that I’ve vanquished the various alien bosses, I’m not particularly driven to go back. But for the price, no regrets.
The graphic design leaves something to be desired. My PNP prototypes have more visual charm.
Still, it fit in the carry-on, didn’t demand a socket, and didn’t judge me for eating Walker’s shortbread in bed. Hard to ask more of a travel companion.
