Space Aces: Wreck Runners - Director's Cut Box Set

main-image

This is definitely relevant to this group. I’m a big fan of the original Space Aces rpg zine. This new box set for dungeon delving focused (or derelict ship diving) gameplay looks pretty great. It’s got a baked in solo mode it appears and looks like it could be a great solo box boardgame/rpg hybrid. If you back in the next 46 hours, you get a free copy of ‘The Landing Party’, a Love Letter type game with a Star Trek theme. Looks pretty cool.

Thanks to all who helped provide feedbacks and playtesting of this. I’m stoked to finally have the Kickstarter live and half funded already!

In Space Aces: Wreck Runners, players will take on the roles of insufferable social media influencers and explore the dangerous depths of drifting derelict spaceships for likes, subscribes, and Space Cred.

The box set features:

  • A 45 page zine loaded with tables, tools, and advice
  • 42 modular starship geomorph tiles to build an infinite of ships
  • 5 custom meeples, including a space corgi
  • 80 double sided tokens
  • GM Screen & GM Tools
  • 20 hot pink d6 dice
  • 5 bingo cards to incentivize shenanigans
  • And lots more

At it’s heart it is easy-to-build and simple-to-run dungeon diving in space game with an overloaded encounter die. It has a push your luck resolution roll and a die stacking doom clock/timer.

I tried to combine what i love about beer-and-pretzel RPGs with the best tactile elements of board games to make a dungeon diving game that is a great experience for everybody.

Check it out if it sounds like your jam.

Happy to answer any questions, and thanks for taking a look!

Once this project is funded and delivered, I plan on focusing all my efforts on getting Space Aces: Voyages In Infinite Space 2E finished and printed.

Apologies – gremlins affected my topic editing and I somewhat butchered this noble thread. I think I’ve manhandled it back into shape… ahem.

Spaces Aces… Huzzah! :rocket:

Aww thanks so much. Let’s just say, none of this would have been possible without the encouragement from Daniel and the Dungeon Dive community in general.

I really want to do a Starwreck jam once this gets released, and put together a free zine expansion full of community-made derelict space dungeons using the tools in the book!

Cool, I’ve never heard of it but it seems worth the $35 to try it out.

I’ve covered Spaces Aces extensively on the channel! Top 10 Solo RPG for me.

Well, I just pledged, so an extra copy will be to give away to a patron.

Wrote a big ol’ Design Retrospective post here about the thoughts and intentions behind creating the various bits and bobs of Wreck Runners. For anybody who likes reading that stuff: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/spaceaces/space-aces-wreck-runners-rpg-directors-cut-box-set/posts/4612217
