Sigils of Nightfall - A Mork Borg, Deck Building, Rogue-lite, Digital Dungeon Dive

Daniel (@dungeondive) takes a digital dive into Sigils of Nightfall, a Mork Borg-inspired deck-building roguelike dungeon crawler available in demo form on Steam.

Mork Borg Tabletop Heritage: The game uses the iconic Mork Borg stat system (Strength, Agility, Presence, Toughness) and translates the tabletop experience into digital form with impressive faithfulness.

Deck-Building Combat: Starting with a starter deck of armor cards, sword cards, and shields, players build their deck as they progress. Drawing loot cards reveals choices between powerful weapons, spells (scrolls in Mork Borg terminology), and armor upgrades that create emergent builds.

Flavorful Encounters: Every room, trap, and encounter has atmospheric text that sets the gothic horror mood. Encounters range from simple stat tests to multi-enemy combats, with consequences that make failure meaningful.

Roguelike Progression: Defeat enemies to gain silver currency and add cards to your deck. Unlock traits and gain trinkets that modify your character sheet. The difficulty can spike suddenly (as Daniel discovered in one run that went sideways fast), creating tension.

Expanding Content Unknown: Daniel is excited to see what roguelike elements (between-run upgrades, unlockables, progression systems) the full game will add. The demo shows strong promise for capturing that solo tabletop Mork Borg experience in digital form.
