Haven’t seen a thread on this yet - there is a new solo game by Joe being crowdfunded: Radiance.
It looks very interesting with lots of variability and lots of mechanical decisions to make each round. It’s a deterministic system like Mage Knight in terms of how your character actions work.
There’s lots of information to digest to make a decision with, I’m chunking through that at the moment but definitely interested so far.

There seem to be some backers of previous ‘Best With 1’ campaigns who haven’t received their stuff and are unhappy.
Do people have experience of this publishing company? Are they usually reliable and this is just a few vocal people?
They do the Solo Game of the Month games and I’ve backed quite a few. I can’t speak for anyone else’s experiences but I’ve always gotten mine failry quickly. I think there have been some hiccups with manufacturing and shipping delays but nothing out of the ordinary with crowdfunding and manufacturing. I’m in the States, midwest more specifically.
The only bit giving me pause, and I still backed for clarity, is the addition of stretch goals. Normally the games are complete but this is the first they’re doing SGs. Not sure how much that will add to the timeline.
The only bit of controversy I’m aware of is that initially, they put all their games in VHS boxes and then switched to traditional chipboard pre fullfillment and post funding of several games. So, if you bought in thinking you were getting the matching VHS tapes of the previous games, you were now getting chipboard. I remember seeing some folks upset about it, I’d honestly prefer to keep the VHS box with option for Chipboard but I imagine the practicality of SKUs and storage and yadda yadda yadda would be insane.

I backed Rome, and although they said 98% are delivered, there are quite a few people saying they haven’t got it, including myself. No shipment notification, no change of status. The publisher gave a method to report issues, but over 2 weeks and no response. He mentioned he would get back to his emails by end of last week, but no response.
So something is going wrong with deliveries, but no word on what. Seems weird that it is across a number of countries though.
I paused my backing until I get at least a response from them.

In general, I’ve had a good experience with Best with 1 Games. I’ve bought four of the solo game series (three received so far) and five games from their prior releases. It’s a lot of campaigns they’ve released so I imagine not all of them are all created equal in terms of production etc, and being released on time. It’s one man outfit for the most part so I definitely have a bit of grace and fully confident I’d eventually be receiving what I pledged for.

i baked 16 Games an 3 playmats. I received 11 Games and 3 playmats and 2 will be sent this month. One Playmat Order was lost, after Email help@bestwithone it was send.
Only mech bunny ist delayed, the Game mechanics have been reworked.
Yeah, Gabe got back to me earlier this week mentioning mine was 1 of 103 that didn’t ship. And it would ship by weeks end. No shipping confirmation was received yet, so still not sure if it shipped or not. Don’t want to harp on this one, as I has some confidence it will be fixed. But sometimes it is good to know if other people are in the same boat.
