Queen's Domain - Demo Preview - A New King's Field Like

Daniel takes us through the demo of Queen’s Domain, a game that’s part of the exciting new wave of titles inspired by From Software’s classic King’s Field series. While Daniel bounced off the original King’s Field games back in the PS1 days, finding them clunky and hard to control, this new generation—including Lunacid and Dread Delusion—has captured his attention, and Queen’s Domain stands out as the best of the bunch so far.

The demo showcases a beautiful retro aesthetic with a modern filter, methodical combat that rewards patience and positioning over button-mashing, and a variety of weapon types each with their own damage characteristics (slash, pierce, and blunt). Daniel walks through the entire demo, collecting throwing daggers, a spear, and a club while battling ratty bugs, laser-shooting forest eyes, and challenging skeletons.

What really shines through is Daniel’s enthusiasm for the full game—he’s completed the demo multiple times and can’t wait to explore the towers, bridges, and mysterious structures visible in the distance. With its atmospheric soundtrack, satisfying exploration loop, and tantalising glimpse of abilities to come (like a wind sword for traversing gaps), Queen’s Domain has secured its spot as Daniel’s second most anticipated game after Nioh 3.

If you’re a fan of slow, methodical dungeon exploration with that classic King’s Field feel but modern sensibilities, definitely add this one to your wishlist.
