Circling back with a couple thoughts for now.
- Daniel’s recent review of Trudvang Legacy might be worth checking out, if you have that game.
- Someone(s) in this forum keeps recommending Pathfinder Adventure Card Game: Mummy’s Mask, and I have been considering picking it up. Classic rpg system, fantasy theming, a boardgame feel, and solo-able.
- I know the IP less well but Thorgal: The Adventure Game looks interesting/beautiful and gameplay may be novel and interesting: More puzzley than hack-and-slash combat. @modius has written up some reviews of it.
(Modius is also one of the Robert E Howard / Conan fans who may have more to say in reply to your question.)
