Favorite sound tracks for board games

I have been planning on making this post for a few weeks, and seeing Daniel’s patreon post about music for board games I thought what time better then now to make mine. I have small vinyl collection, focusing mainly on sound tracks, and I had been picking my favorite sound tracks for my board games. Obviously these are just my personal picks, and also based off what I own. I’m not saying these are the best sound tracks for each game, just my favorites out of what I have. Of course I rotate some different records for each of these games, but these are my picks for which ones have that particular “je ne sais quoi” for each particular game.

I’d love to hear if any of y’all also have a particular sound track that you think matches a games vibe perfectly.

It’s not common for us to try and match music to our games, but I will say that last night we were playing League of Dungeoneers while listening to a playlist that was a mix of post-metal and instrumental tech-death and I quite enjoyed the pairing.

I don’t have a sound track for HeroQuest, so I’ll totally put this on the next time I get in a game of that.

We always go for H.P. Lovecraft’s audio books and some 40s jazz while playing Eldritch Horror

I have Eldritch Horror but I haven’t played it in like… 6 years probably. Could be time to dust if off and give it a go. Gotta re-learn the rules again.
