Open to any dungeon synth recommendations folks might have that are more on the ambient side. I work from home and often put on ambient as a productivity backdrop. Looking for something like the Vermis soundtrack maybe.
I’ve got a Dungeon Synth playlist where I’ve consolidated a few of my favorite albums
And, if you care to check out, I also have a bunch of ambient albums I’ve written and recorded. Not dungeon synth, but ambient.
Sounds like medieval lo-fi without the anime girls.
Had no idea that Dungeon Synth was a defined genre ![]()
All of these are instrumental, but perhaps not all will qualify as ambient. Only 2 were (arguably) intended as dungeon synth (and are in fact soundtracks for other analog games). I don’t know what the forum/site will do with these URLs.
edit: the site did something pretty darn cool with those URLs. Bandcamp FTW.
Thank you - this is great. Will listen during work tomorrow. “Carl Sagan’s Ghost” - I love it.
I default to these two very often as the bridge between ambience and music:
These two are VERY ambient:
A bit more chill:
Definitely instrumental, but a favourite:
I like less elements that distract and more that just put me in the mood. For me, that means ambient, and I mean like no beat at all. Steve Roach is great for this, I like Midnight Moon for spooky games, for example. Not for everyone, but you can’t argue the man knows his textures.
I have been really into Glass Beams lately, really good music and easy to put in the background as you dive into some board games. Has a middle eastern flare to it. Feel free to add other music you think others would like!
I cannot get enough of this one at the moment.
Ooh, I like the URL formatting ![]()
Also, roll a D6…

Really digging the Cryo Crypt YouTube channel; the artists Mountain Realm and Trollslottet are standouts for me.
Didn’t know fishing vinyl was a thing, yet here we are! I played Pauper’s Ladder last night (a farewell to 1st Ed!) and this would have been perfect…
