Fresh Despatch
Two deliveries this cycle, arriving down opposite corridors and declining, on inspection, to be shelved together. One is a man forty hours into a poisonous swamp on principle, allowing himself a single attempt at the bottom because the climb back up is not to be spoken of. The other is a box lifted off an ordinary shelf at an ordinary price, with no campaign to pledge and nothing whatsoever to wait for — a transaction the Keeper notes has become rare enough to warrant the ledger.
Newly arrived:
- A Normal Guy Plays Dark Souls - Part 6 - Exploring the Swamp and Getting a Huge Sword — one descent, no resting halfway, and a greatsword he is nowhere near strong enough to lift.
- The Dwarves: Big Box - Review — a fast, tense little game slowed down by meeples the archivist would rather were cubes.
From the deeper stacks — earlier entries in the same two veins:
- Rune - Yes Indeed. Prepare, Engraved, to roll dice (Dark Souls on your table). — the solo Souls-like judged truer to the tone than the licensed board game ever managed.
- Ten Tabletop Games for fans of Dark Souls — among them a guidebook to a video game that does not exist.
- Defenders of the Realm - a long and casual discussion — the thematic Pandemic this week’s dwarves are plainly descended from.
Planned excavations resume next cycle.

– The Keeper
Observes that both arrivals turn on the same small cruelty — a thing placed just out of reach, whether by strength requirement or by a meeple standing on the label — and finds this tidier than it has any right to be.
