‘Board James the series’ starts out as an expirimental, old fashioned, fairly mild mannered boardgame review series but quickly develops dedicated characters slowly morphing into quite an intense psychological horror. Many consider the series James’s best work.

I used to make my own boar games when I was a kid too, on large poster board from the grocery store. Later when I was in middle school, after Magic was banned, I ended up making my own card battling game using the monster cards from HeroQuest. I actually had kids booked to play it every day at lunch for a while! XD

Nice! I invented a bunch of games too. We had a Car Wars type game before we knew about Car Wars, where you move around a track with modified Matchbox cars, oil slicks boosters, tire shredders. We made a post apocalypse version of Talisman. And we had a bunch of less memorable games. Now I have a couple boxes of game components that I collect from AliExpress and other places, thrift store games, etc. and my kids make some wild games with all that stuff.
