Hi I’m Craig of Abandoned Lighthouse Games. Here are a few images of a few projects I’m working on.
Champions Of The Mirror Realm! An overworld battle adventure for 2-4 players
MoonArk - A fun little inhand puzzle-game available on pnparcade
Devoured Fallen Colossus - A dark dungeon crawler, coming soon from Exalted Funeral
… I also has a space resource management game called Diabolical Drilling Co/ that’s available on the Exalted Funeral website.
Finally, Fractured Rift- a token placing occult puzzler. I’m still working on the rules for that!
I’ll post more photos of these projects if folks are interested. It’s nice to have a place to share projects.
I’m sure I picked this up on Gamecrafter a while back. I will have to hunt through my shelves when I get home. Is the Exalted Funeral version a 2nd edition or something completely new?
Hi, yes it did come out on Gamecrafter a few years ago. The new version is an updated upgrade of the original!…
If you have the Gamecrafter version it’s basically the same game but the quality of the new version is obviously a lot better. It has a few extras, a lovely box with great storage and a really nice new rulebook.
This is fractured rift. An occult puzzle game in which you must manipulate the universe around you to try and stop a cosmic god entering your dimension and destroying it.
You’ll race against a prophecy. A comet is heading towards a fractured rift, behind which the cosmic god is barely trapped, tentacles are breaking through into our dimension. If the comet hits the rift it will break the seal completely and release the god.
The main mechanism is a draw bag full of tokens that will allow you different ways to manipulate the cosmos. You are then granted with 4 different ways to mitigate your draw. It requires strategic thinking, planning your next few moves in advance. It’s pretty tricky!
So far we have Playtested 35 times! And tweaked it a lot, but it’s nearly there. Getting the balance has been quite a mission!
I love cards, they are my favourite part of any game. In Champions there are a lot of cards!
These cards are 4 Champions from the Ash Plains, a hot and dusty landscape known for extremely hostile living and tough inhabitants.
I’m just tweaking all the cards one final time to get them ready for the final prototype. There have been countless updates, changes and tweaks to these cards over the years. It’s been quite a journey but the end is on sight.
Anyways, I hope you’re enjoying these posts, I really enjoy talking about my projects and I love sharing the art and mechanics.
There are 5 realms each feature 4 playable characters.
Been working on my occult puzzler, while I’m waiting for some samples. My buddy Sabrina has Playtested it 66 times now. The boards have changed a few times! These pictures are the lastest(rejected) board. It seems it’s way too busy, she was knocking counters everywhere😂,so back to the drawing board. The mechanics are almost down, it’s a real thinker of a game and it’s a lot of fun. It’s pretty hard though, you can’t fluke a win, you really have to think ahead or you’ll die for sure! It’s called Fractured Rift.
Got the Champions prototype all packed up ready for my first convention this year. Small local one that’s more D&D than boardgame but hopefully I’ll have a few folks who wanna play!
Hiya! I was gonna do Airecon but unfortunately the final updates of the sample are not arriving till next week and Airecon is this weekend! So close!!!… But, it does mean that I can look at cons in a few moths and will have a catalog of games to present. I will have a final sample of Devoured to show, as well as Diabolical Drilling and of course Champions Of The Mirror Realm. I’ll look at tabletop scotland, and any other mid sized cons as well as small more local ones. I’m super excited about getting the final sample of Champions as it’s kinda my baby and it just exceeded all expectations and seems to be getting alot of positive feedback! And between me and you, I’ve also finished Diabolical Dungeon Crawl! But that’s our secret.
I finalised the combat mechanics in Champions! A few tweaks here and there and I’ve got a really fun, sometimes tense battle going on. 5 dice and a lot of fun combinations including some crazy cool mitigations all thrown in a pot of fast paced combat fun!
Got everything in for my final battle tracking boards. Each player has one of these. I’ve gone for wooden tracker cubes but stayed with plastic dice. The wooden ones just didn’t feel right. The test of the final
Sample will arrive next week then I can start doing videos and booking conventions.
Some progress! My sample of Champions is on its way from China! Woooohoooo, I’ve finished the board for a weird little occult puzzler and I’m gonna be demoing at Tabletop Scotland, I’d love to meet up with any divers who are going! It’s gonna be amazing
I’ve put it off because I didn’t think I could add anything else new to the dungeon crawl genre. Devoured is a crawler that’s slightly different and I thought that would be my contribution to the world of dungeon crawling, That game was so hard to make. Splitting a story onto random card picks that would make sense no matter how it’s drawn was a nightmare! 100s of hours and rewrites.plus working out a unique combat system that was fresh took a lot of work and stress.
I love Crawlers, I’ve had another one in my notes for ages, I’ve started and stopped it a few times but now I’ve worked out the mechanics, rough tested a few cards, finished my notes and started to illustrate it. I guess the world gets another crawler after all.
This one’s so simple. I deck of 150 dungeon cards, 4 playable characters, 100 action cards( this is somthing new, but I won’t reveal it yet) a bunch of item cards. No dice rolls, only dice markers. A almost whimsical art style but a dark game.
