Underrated and brilliant S&S book. Absolute Gem.
This sounds really cool, I miss there being protagonists that were just a thing, not an uber soldier or best in the biz, yadda yadda yadda. Just a poet dude.
I adore Zelazny and the best bit is there are SO MANY books. I’ve never even heard of this one and it sounds like he wrote it specifically for me. Gonna have to track it down.
One of my favorite book covers, ever. But still haven’t read it! ![]()
Hell yeah! One of my all time favorite books. So well written.
Dealny wrote my favorite SF book of all time - Dhalgren.
Dungeon Crawler Carl. It’s a fun light read. Also numerous comic books, mostly independent, but a few mainstream.
wohooo… have to check this out… i read PRINCES OF AMBER from Zelazny… was quiet nice.
Nice! Haven’t read this one, but it looks cool!
I’m currently reading the “Light Fantastic” by Terry Pratchett, working my way through the discworld series, (in between reading other things) as I never read them in my youth which is when most of my friends seem to have. Great stuff, very light / quick reading, funny and full of all sorts of fantasy nonsense. Great if you want to rip through a book quick and I’m sure they’d appeal to all of you. I started with “Mort” as it’s most commonly recommended as the best entry point to Pratchett, even though it’s not the first in the series, and it was absolutely fantastic. Really recommend if you’ve never read his books before…
There is also TTRPG of Discworld coming out soon, which I backed so hoping to play it with some pals that have an old love affair with the book series.
Double posting, as also have just finished re-reading “We Are All Legends” by Darrell Schweitzer, based on Daniels recommendation.
IDK if you remember but I commented on youtube I’d get my book club to also read it. We’re meeting tomorrow night to discuss it so I will report back what they say, interested to see as it’s pretty outside what most of them read usually! So far in our whatsapp group someone has said it had given them ‘weird dreams’, so at least we know it’s having an impact!
I also liked it so much that I bought the hardcover signed by the man himself direct from his ebay. I wonder if he got a little bump in sales recently? Would be nice!
Nice! LOVE that book. It’s really something special. I know for a fact that he did receive a bump in sales after my review. ![]()
That cover illustration for the Hobbit is lovely!
While i am waiting for the next book in the Gotrek and Felix saga i started with this book:
Darkblade: Daemons Curse…
Sounds like a good one!
Been reading a lot of comic books lately. V3 of Swamp Thing, Secret Identity, All Star Superman, and currently making my way through the TMNT Ultimate Collections.
well yea,
i am struggling a little… it’s not that funny and easy to read as GOTREK & FELIX.
But i will judge it when it is finished.
Man so many memories from reading Gotrek & Felix
