Many years ago in a fit of optimism and disposable income, I backed Numenera; a curious science-fantasy rpg set a billion years hence. Not content with a metric ton of unused rpg tomes, I also sponsored the production of a short film set in the Ninth World. I was rewarded with a DVD. Shiny. Circular. Utterly obsolete within the decade. A kind of homage to the dying earth genre.
With a new edition now shambling its way through crowdfunding, Monte Cook Games have released the short film upon YouTube for all to behold:
While Numenera may not be of interest to most, the 10 minute short film is a worthy diversion. Ancient ruins. Impossible devices. The usual detritus of eight prior civilisations.
Should you feel the pull of distant aeons, the new campaign can be found here:
And for those who enjoy tracing the fossil record of my enthusiasms…
From the world of endless imagination to the big screen, Numenera comes alive. Brought to you by Valdes/Eriksdotter & Monte Cook Games.
