Dungeon Degenerates - Let's Play - Establishing a Base - Part 2

Daniel (@dungeondive) is back, sleeved cards in hand, ready to face the grimy dangers of the Burning Lakes. Things escalate quickly—three monsters emerge in the Badlands: a More Bad Goblin, a vicious Goblin Dog with the pursue ability (meaning our heroes can’t escape), and a devilish Goblin Egg that explodes on death, poisoning anyone caught in the blast.

Combat gets genuinely tense. Daniel’s characters survive the initial onslaught through lucky rolls and smart use of the fine weakness ability, but not without scars. The Bloodsport Brawler burns a luck point mid-fight to avoid total disaster, and both heroes end up poisoned—their Constitution drops, which tanks their maximum health pools. It’s brutal, interconnected damage that rewards tactical thinking.

After the combat wraps, a mysterious Geomancer appears on distant rocks, offering to teach the party ancient magics. Neither of Daniel’s muscular degenerates fit the scholar archetype, so they pass on studying magic for now. The Burning Lakes danger level ticks upward, and worst of all—the Hand of Doom finally emerges on the board, triggering a Doom card that reshapes the entire map.
